Memorysolution presents the first DDR2 memory modules at the CeBIT

At this year's CeBIT, Memorysolution will show off its first engineering samples of the new DDR2 memory technology. This new technology underscores the commitment Germany's leading special supplier of memory products and memory enhancements has made to having the most state-of-the-art technologies in its portfolio.

Hanover, CeBIT 2004 - Memorysolution, the leading specialist for memory products and memory enhancements on the European market, will present the first engineering samples of DDR2 modules at this year’s CeBIT in Hall 22, Booth A23. "We are proud that we are one of the first suppliers to present this forward-looking memory technology here at the CeBIT," says Memorysolution Managing Director, Gerald Diercks. "This underscores our commitment to being a technology leader and to being able to sell our customers the newest and most powerful memory on the market." The new memory generation offers considerably better performance than the current DDR memory with its maximum transfer rate of more than 3.2 GB per second. The basis for this performance is its new architecture. The m icro MBGA chip design is also less susceptible to interference and the "on-die termination" (ODT) makes it free of signal distortion. In brief, the signal quality is much improved over the DDR1 modules: DDR2 runs faster and is more stable than its DDR1 predecessor but it also requires new, suitable mainboards and chip sets. The supply voltage, which has been lowered to 1.8 V, has also noticeably reduced the amount of heat loss on the module. "We are confident that we will be able to supply large quantities of DDR2 modules at the same time that the first mainboards become available," is how Gerald Diercks sums up the current development status. "Of course, it goes without saying that these new high-performance modules will meet the strict JEDEC specifications and come with a ten-year guarantee just like all takeMS products."
